Now Accepting Applications: NRWD Fellowship 2026-27
The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC) Natural Resource Workforce Development (NRWD) Fellowship provides graduate students with training and practice in developing use-inspired and actionable science to inform natural resource management decisions.The science theme for the 2026-2027 NRWD Fellowship is: Cloud Seeding.
Key aspects of the fellowship include:
Training in methods to foster collaboration and development of science that informs resource management decisions
Learning from and working with natural resource management decision-makers
Experience in effective communication of research results to enable use of research
Who is eligible:
The NRWD Fellowship is open to graduate students enrolled in research-based thesis or dissertation-granting programs at the seven SW CASC consortium institutions. One applicant from each institution will be selected to take part in each fellowship cohort.
Requirements:
Fellows will work as a team to conduct research and create a final product. Fellows are required to attend two one-hour cohort teleconferences per month and two in-person meetings per year. Each fellow must submit a news item for the SW CASC website.
Funding for successful applicants includes a stipend of $9,000 plus paid travel to Utah State University for each cohort meeting.
