The SW CASC held a Translational Ecology panel talk and brown bag lunch on Friday, Nov. 9 at the University of Arizona. The goal of the event was workforce development and training in the field of Translational Ecology (TE). The invited panelists were Don Falk, Professor in the School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE), Assistant Professor Monica Ramirez-Andreotta of the Soil, Water, and Environmental Sciences Department, and Elise Gornish, Cooperative Extension Specialist at the SNRE. Panelists discussed success stories, methods for teaching TE concepts to students, and opportunities for students interested in learning about TE.

Anyone interested in learning more about TE should check out the link below to the Dec. 2017 special issue of Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment which is wholly dedicated to the concepts of TE.
