The September episode of the Come Rain or Shine podcast is out now! Tune in to, “Old Growth Grasslands,” which features an interview with Dr. Katharine Suding, a researcher at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research at the University of Colorado Boulder.

In this episode, learn about the concept of old growth ecosystems, especially as it relates to grasslands. “Old growth” is a term often associated with forests, however scientists are beginning to realize that this concept also applies to other types of ecosystems, including grasslands, which provide a host of important ecosystem services.

Come Rain or Shine is a collaborative product of the USDA Southwest Climate Hub and the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC). The podcast highlights stories to share the most recent advances in climate science, weather and climate adaptation, and innovative practices to support resilient landscapes and communities. New episodes are released on the first Wednesday of each month.
