New ITEP Virtual Course: Integrating Climate into Hazard Mitigation Plans

This workshop will build upon the previous course “Climate Series #1: Climate Change 101", which provided an introduction to planning for climate change impacts using examples from tribes that have been going through the hazard mitigation process. This second course will provide information on how climate change considerations can be mainstreamed into FEMA multi-hazard mitigation plans while considering cultural values, priorities and indigenous knowledges. The course agenda will include tribal case studies and representatives from FEMA, ITEP, and the Northwest and Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Centers to provide knowledge and guidance on the process.
