Nov. 1, 2013
University of Arizona scientist Karletta Chief has co-authored two papers appearing in a special issue of Climatic Change centering on the impacts of climate change on indigenous communities. Partially funded by the SW CSC, Chief’s research focuses on tribal water resources and socioeconomic vulnerability. Chief notes that the “Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe’s vulnerability to climate change is related to cultural and economic dependence on Pyramid Lake.”
